i know what you are dealing with! my best friend when i was young was very nerdy, wimpy, and sensitive but i loved him like a brother. as we got older he got cuter and as he got cuter more popular. eventually he was hanging out with this one popular boy who i went out with and was a jerk! after we broke up he was worse. now this boy i was friends with still talks to me but is always pretending like i am not there when around his friends. so i do the same back. i even started to be a little mean to him, acting like i didn't really care for him but in a joking way. i could tell it still hurt his feelings though. then after a week of doing this he told my best friend that he liked me alot but knew i would never date him. i started to be more flirty and we ended up dating. so yupp try it and good luck!
