What do you do when you can't go to your boss?

I am having issues with a co-worker that has only been with our company for 1 year now. I've been there for almost 6. She is snooty, acts like she is better than everyone there and is basically going on a power trip telling people what to do and acting like she runs the show. Me being a pretty level headed person, view everyone in a company as equal, no matter seniority, age, race, or religion. We are supposed to work as a team. I am not the only employee here that feels this way, most everyone has a problem with her attitude. Only thing is I can't go to my boss with these issues... they are friends. Close friends (not intimate) and he doesn't see that she does anything wrong. She is at least 20 years older than me so I feel like I get looked at as the immature one even though she has the problem. Its causing me stress and quite frankly I've been looking for a new job. I feel like I should be able to talk to my boss about these things, but I feel like I can't. What do I do?!?
